< UNITED STATES | SAN JOSE: The Westin San Jose
The Westin San Jose is a timeless landmark dating back to 1926. Situated in the heart of downtown, the hotel was visioned to be the root of the city’s growing social and
cultural life. Once the site of the Eagle Brewery closed by prohibition in 1918, The Hotel Sainte Claire's ground-breaking took place in September, 1925. Upon completion exactly one year later
with construction and furnishing costs totaling $1,000,000, the hotel became known as San Jose's "Million Dollar Hotel".
Through the years as downtown San Jose went through good times and bad, the Spanish Revival Renaissance design remains restored. The building is now a distinctive and urban space with old and new elements. In 1994 after already being a City Historic Landmark, the Hotel Sainte Claire also earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, The Westin San Jose blends history and elegance bringing you luxurious amenities and excellent service. Impressive architecture and charming furnishings provide an awe-inspiring setting for a relaxing getaway. Our legendary hotel has even hosted noteable guests like Garland & Gable, Roosevelt & Kennedy, and DiMaggio & Hope. With character that presents both comfort and sophistication, The Westin San Jose is the perfect choice when traveling for business or pleasure.
